Our Current Project: Japan
So our first ‘project’ in The Morning Wire is to document our trip to the “Land of the Rising Sun”. We’ve arrived during the start of Golden Week – two national holidays occurring on back to back long weekends at the end of April and beginning of May. People here add two of their holidays in between and then travel. So it’s busy. We’ve learned a requisite handful of Japanese phrases so we can be good ambassadors for Canada.
We’ll spend 21 days bumping around the country, going on food and market tours, exploring the culture, taking several Shinkansen (bullet train) trips and more importantly – navigating the Tokyo subway system. Our trip will take us to Tokyo, Kanazawa and Takayama (rural mountain towns), then to Kyoto, returning to Tokyo for a few more days before heading home.
So check back and browse the categories on our menu bar where we will (attempt) to blog and vlog some of our experiences as we try to not get lost or miss any trains.
By the way – the photos below were taken by Austin and Wyatt during a high school trip to Japan.
